Automotive Camera System
Development
【Overview】
We developed a multi-access control system for in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) platforms, enabling multiple applications—such as navigation and safety assistance systems (e.g., EVS and surround view)—to concurrently access a single camera resource. The system prevents failures caused by conflicts between competing resource requests from different client applications, ensuring stable and reliable camera operation across diverse use cases.
【Key Features of the Multi-Access Control System】
Frame Distribution Control
Distributes frame data according to application-specific resource requests
Centrally manages priorities and data rates for each client application
Buffer Management
Retains frame buffers until processing by all client applications is completed
Prevents data corruption and contention caused by premature buffer release
Fault-Tolerant Design
Monitors application freezes and unresponsive states
Automatically isolates faulty applications while maintaining continuous frame delivery to other active clients
Scheduling and QoS Control
Optimizes resolution, frame rate (FPS), and latency based on application purpose (e.g., display, recording, recognition)
Ensures appropriate quality of service for each use case sharing the camera resource
