  Overview

  This role focuses on embedded software development for smart devices, automotive systems, and industrial machinery.

  You will work across a wide range of software layers—from device drivers and middleware to application layers—mainly on Linux, Android, or QNX–based systems.

  Through feature development, performance optimization, testing, and debugging, you will contribute to improving product stability, performance, and overall quality.

  Responsibilities

  • Embedded software development on Linux, Android, or QNX

    (requirements analysis, design, implementation, and testing)

  • Development and modification of device drivers, middleware, and framework layers

  • Performance optimization

    (boot time, memory usage, latency, stability, power consumption, etc.)

  • Defect analysis and countermeasure planning

    (log analysis, reproduction procedures, root-cause analysis, and solution design)

  • Execution of various testing and quality improvement initiatives

    (automated testing, benchmarking, and CI support)

  • Technical coordination, specification alignment, and issue management with chip/OS vendors, development partners, and OEMs

  Required Skills and Experience

  • Experience in embedded software development using Linux, Android, or QNX

  • Experience in software development using C/C++ or Java/Kotlin

  • Experience in debugging with actual hardware

    (log analysis, and use of tools for debugging and root-cause analysis)

  • Basic knowledge of operating systems and software frameworks

  Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience in software development for smart devices

    (such as platform development, drivers/HAL, application development, and performance optimization)

  • Experience in software development for automotive systems

    (such as IVI, ADAS, cameras, sensors, and quality or process management)

  • Experience in SoC vendor–provided development environments

    (such as Qualcomm, NVIDIA, and MediaTek)

  • Experience in device-related development areas

    (such as camera, image processing, audio, and wireless communications including Wi-Fi and Bluetooth)

  • Experience with development infrastructure and development processes

    (such as build environments, CI/CD pipelines including Docker and Jenkins, issue tracking tools such as Jira and Redmine, and source code management using Git or Gerrit)

  Overview

  This role leads software development projects aimed at solving customer challenges, working closely with internal development teams and external partners.
  You will be responsible for requirement management, defining project plans, and managing progress, issues, and risks, while overseeing overall project execution in terms of quality, cost, and delivery.

  Responsibilities

  • Planning and driving end-to-end project execution

    (including WBS creation, team structure design, and definition of schedule and milestones)

  • Coordinating and negotiating with customers

    (requirements clarification, schedule and priority adjustments, and change management)

  • Managing project progress, issues, and risks

  • Managing deliverables and overall project quality

  • Managing external partners

    (defining scope and deliverables, conducting work reviews, and handling contractual arrangements)

  • Improving development processes

    (preventive measures for defects, root-cause analysis, and initiatives to improve efficiency and quality)

  • Facilitating project meetings and reporting to stakeholders

  Required Skills and Experience

  • Experience as a Project Manager or Project Leader in software development projects

    (approximately 3 years or more)

  • Communication skills to coordinate and build consensus among stakeholders with differing interests

  • Ability to structure and analyze issues logically, define priorities, and drive solutions

  • Understanding of general software development processes

    (from requirements definition through design, implementation, testing, and release)

  Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience in managing contract-based or joint development projects involving multiple companies

  • Experience in project management for smart devices or automotive systems

    (such as IVI, ADAS, or camera systems)

  • Knowledge of development for embedded platforms based on Linux, Android, or QNX

  • Practical experience with Agile/Scrum development and issue-tracking tools such as Jira or Redmine

  • Experience working on projects with multilingual team members

    (e.g., Japanese, English, Chinese)
